Team Building using video content to improve learning results

At the Amazing Team Challenge, we use video content on your Amazing Races to deliver tasks and key information for the participants. So much of the way we communicate these days is through video, whether it’s a zoom call presentation to camera, or pre-made video content that informs and educates the viewer. As a team building activity, its important the event matches the styles and structures of the workplace, so people are learning and developing skills they can actually apply, after the Amazing Race is completed. If that’s how your workplace operates, then your next team building event should be doing the same.

The Huffington post has a great article on video improving learning results. Here’s a short excerpt:

“Forrester Research estimates one minute of online video equates to approximately 1.8 million written words. In addition, 90 percent of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000 times faster in the brain than text. This indicates visual education aids like video can improve learning styles and increase the rate at which we retain information.”
