Team Building: Happiness in the workplace
Happiness in the workplace is vital at the best of times, but given our current state in the pandemic, it seems even more pertinent. With so many of us working from home, the daily grind can feel monotonous and draining. Changing it up with some and different ways to engage employees, like team building activities, is so important to buck the trend and keep things spontaneous, as well as engaging employees in a different way. Most of which is online at the moment due to restrictions, but finding that personal interaction again when restrictions ease, will be crucial. As well as employees mental well being, their happiness is a proven contributor to productivity and overall benefits to a company. Check out this excerpt from a Forbes report on exactly that:
“Employee happiness has increasingly become an imperative in business. Why? There is now growing evidence that when one's employees are happy, organisations thrive. To put this claim into perspective, consider just a few key statistics.
One study found that happy employees are up to 20% more productive than unhappy employees. When it comes to salespeople, happiness has an even greater impact, raising sales by 37%. But the benefits don't end there. Happy employees are also good news for organisations: The stock prices of Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for" rose 14% per year from 1998 to 2005, while companies not on the list only reported a 6% increase.”
